| |
The process by which you evaluate another on a set of criteria, with supervisor and subordinate evaluation as well, giving you a gap analysis between how you perceive yourself and how others perceive you. To ensure effectiveness, 360-degree feedback processes should also include develop strategy and coaching sessions. |
Are there other ways of saying 360 Degree feedback?
| |
There are many names that refer to the same process, including: 360 degree assessment, 360 degree performance appraisal, multi-source feedback, multi-rater feedback, multi-rater assessment, full-circle appraisal, upward feedback, and peer evaluation, to name a few. |
Alinea Group clients generally use 360 Assessments for two general purposes: evaluative and developmental.
| |
Evaluative assessments are usually used to provide input into performance appraisals, salary and bonus decisions, succession planning, and movement within an organization. |
| |
Developmental assessments, on the other hand, are conducted to identify areas of opportunity for an individual and facilitate the development of action plans to improve in those areas. |
There are two levels of outcome to consider when answering this question: individual and organizational.
| |
By identifying key behaviors and competencies crucial to success in the organization, assessing individual performance on them, and then providing specific feedback to individuals on their performance, the likelihood of improving on those behaviors and competencies increases. |
| |
Organizationally, measuring competency distribution can be helpful in developing training/development plans, or organizational restructuring. |
