Leadership Training

What makes a person a leader?

Research has explored what constitutes leadership, but the various efforts often provide long lists of personality traits, skills, or behaviors that can confuse the aspiring leader more than helping. Equally important is the follower, who, up to recently, has been virtually ignored.

In this one-day workshop, participants identify the qualities they look for in leaders and followers and explore their own leadership style preferences. They explore the impact of various styles and their impact on work and relationships, and develop plans for growing their effectiveness in leadership roles.

Topics covered in the workshop :
Characteristics of Effective Leaders and Followers
The Transition from Manager to Leader
Situational Leadership
Leadership, Delegation, and Decision-making
Planning for a Change in Leadership Style

The workshop is interactive and insightful, using a combination of lecturette, self assessment instruments, group discussion, and individual and group exercises. A bibliography is included for additional information and further study.
